The Nelson’s Project

Northwood basement renovation

A couple in Northwood had a dream of diversifying their income and expanding their enjoyable living space. Rob's Renos had the joy of bringing that dream to life by adding three rentable bedrooms, a kitchen and a shower, finishing the laundry room, and building a storage room. The renovation will likely be paid off in less than three years. For the full tour, check out this video: https://youtu.be/DF7X9OmvlpY

The Nelson’s Project

Kitchen and main living space renovation

I opened up and dramatically increased the storage capacity and functional capacity of the kitchen in my home a few years ago. This included the removal of three walls, building a wall and a large walk-in pantry, installing some cabinets and countertops, and upgrading the window. I also opened up and enlarged the entranceway and replaced most of the doors and windows. My wife loves all the storage space and convenient access to everything she needs. The kids enjoy watching the sunrise while eating breakfast at the new island out the bright and clear kitchen window.

Bathroom renovation

I started with replacing the sink, toilet, flooring, cabinet, and lighting when we first moved a few years ago. And then I replaced the tub and installed a large cabinet more recently. It has become a delightful and refreshing space for everyone in our family.

My basement rentable bedrooms

I completed gutted my basement a few years ago and built three rentable bedrooms with a kitchenette in each one. I also built a washroom, a shower room, a living room, and a laundry room. I made sure that the space was bright, warm, and feels great. My tenants have often expressed how much they enjoy the rooms, with some staying over five years.
